High School Daily Bulletin

HAPPY 20th Day of School!!

All athletics will be dismissed from the HS for away games.  The bus will depart from the south side of the school (by the main office).  The bus will NOT be going by the athletic complex.  Athletes will no longer go to the sports complex to get on the bus.  This is for liability and insurance reasons.  Baseball will be dismissed at 2:00 today to catch the bus that departs from the HS office at 2:10.

This week is National Farm Safety and Health Week. The Ag Leadership class has been working on safety presentations and has received permission to hold workshops next week during the 8th hour PLT. On Wednesday we will have the 7-9th graders and on Thursday the 10-12th graders. Please be aware these students will not be in your 8th-hour PLTs on those days and you may need to adjust your PLT sign ups.

Remember to check your FlexTime Manager often to see if there are any changes.  Also, when you arrive to PLT times, while your teacher is taking attendance, check your FlexTime Manager to see if you are in the correct place.

We are looking for a couple 11th or 12th graders to earn some extra cash by working with Ryan as custodial help during PLT times or before school 7:00-8:00am.  Eligibility requirements:  All grades above 70%, no discipline referrals, attendance above 90%.  E-Mail Mrs. Smoot if you are interested.  Duties include vacuuming, dusting, light cleaning, etc.

2nd Chance Picture Day- (re-takes)

Tue, Oct 17, 2023  If you would like a 2nd chance at school pictures, please send your child with their picture packet and an explanation of why you want a re-take--and Keithly Photography will make sure they capture a great school picture!

Senior Night for Fall Sports is October 4th after the Varsity Softball. Come out to celebrate our Seniors! This includes Baseball/Softball/Girls Golf/Cross Country.  Senior forms were mailed home, please return your form to Mrs. Belt.

SCHOOL DANCE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for Dances Excluding Prom (in addition to the attendance requirements above):

• Students must sign up to attend a dance 2 weeks in advance of the dance.  Guests who are not members of our school must do the same.  Failure to sign up in a timely manner will result in not being able to attend the dance.
• Students with 2 or more F’s in a quarter will not be able to attend a dance in the following quarter.
• Students must have 90% or higher cumulative attendance to attend a dance (unless it is waived by the principal)
• Students with 9 or more tardies in the quarter the dance is being held will not be allowed to attend.
• Students with 3 or more office referrals in the quarter the dance is being held will not be allowed to attend.
• Students who have received 2 or more days of ISS or OSS in a semester will not be allowed to attend a dance in that semester (if OSS occurs on day of dance student will not be allowed to attend).

PROM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

● Students must sign up to attend prom while the sign up sheet is in the office. If after the deadline, students must speak with the principal and sponsors. Guests who are not a member of our school must be approved.

● Students with 2 or more F's in Semester 1 will not be able to attend.

● Students must have 90 % cumulative attendance or higher— If attendance is lower than a 90%

the student must provide a written letter or go before administration and explain why they should

be able to attend

● Students may not have more than 9 tardies in any quarter prior to prom for the school year.

● Students with 3 or more office referrals or 3 or more days of ISS or OSS for the current school

year may not attend.

● To attend prom, all juniors must work the required concession stand shifts.

● Guests must be at least a 9th grader to attend prom or at the discretion of LHS administrators.

Guests 21 or older will be at the discretion of LHS administrators.
