- The Senior High Academic Bowl team has been making great strides this season! While we haven't secured a win yet, our improvement has been undeniable. In our last meet, we played our best match of the year, narrowly falling to Linn County in a hard-fought battle. With one meet left next week, we're optimistic about picking up a couple of wins and finishing the season strong. Keep up the great work team!

Dear parent/guardian,
There are required and recommended immunizations for students to attend public school in Missouri. The Macon County Health Department has these vaccines available and plan to offer the required vaccines, TDaP & Meningococcal (ACWY), at the schools throughout Macon County this spring for students entering 8th and 12th grades for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, who will need to be compliant with state regulations. We will be offering these at La Plata R-II on May 7, 2025.
There are other vaccines recommended, but not required for this age group. If you are interested in your teen receiving any other vaccine for their age group, such as HPV (human papilloma virus) or Meningococcal B, please mark it accordingly on the consent form below. HPV and Meningococcal B are multi-dose series in which there will need to be a follow up(s) to complete those series.
This is a great opportunity for your teens to get up to date on their immunizations for the next school year without making an appointment anywhere or missing school/work!
For any questions related to any vaccines being offered, please call the Macon County Health Department (660-395-4711) to speak with the immunization nurse. If you wish for your teen to receive immunizations on May 7, 2025 at La Plata R-II, please fill out attached consent form and return to the school nurse OR scan QR code below to submit electronically by May 2, 2025.
Best,
Rebecca Yount, RN
